I based Wake Up on a photo of our daughter, Tamia, when she fell asleep after finishing a bottle of juice. Then I added more to the story. If Tamia doesn’t "wake up" she is going to lose her cookie to our dog, Niko. No matter that the original photo of Tamia was taken in the mid 1970s and Niko was born several generations later.
